The Raymarine ST60 Plus Depth System is another Raymarine, Inc., product that has become
synonymous with accuracy and quality, characteristics that have impressed mariners, boat owners, and other people
who love sailing, both professionals and beginners.
As its name says, the ST60 Plus Depth System is a sailing instrument that measures the depth of water from
the vantage point of the boat. It provides accurate depth information in feet, fathoms or meters.
Reliable Under The Most Challenging Conditions
The instrument is contained in a rugged waterproof case to give out reliable information even in the most
demanding conditions. The large high-quality LCD display, with 3 levels of backlighting, plus superior contrast and
visibility, allows anyone to read it night or day.
The ST60 Plus Depth System gets its data either from its connected depth transducer (master mode) or from
another depth-calculating device connected to the SeaTalk data network (repeater mode).
More ST60 Plus Depth instruments can be added and become repeaters wherever needed. This is done simply by
linking to the SeaTalk network and configuring them as repeaters. Of course, the device can also be a stand-alone
tool independent of other onboard systems.
ST60 Alarm System
Raymarine, Inc. have done some improvements on the ST60 Plus Depth System, especially its alarm system,
monitor digits (made them big), and have tweaked a variable contrast into the screen.
For the user, shallow and deep alarms can be disabled without changing the settings. The anchor alarm, however,
uses both the High and Low alarms simultaneously. References can be set for waterline or keel offset.
Compatibility With Other Devices
The device can perform readings on water that have depths between 0.8 meters to 180 meters. It has a depth trend
indicator and an adjustable display response.
It is compatible with the wireless SmartController autopilot control and instrument repeater. Another
networking technology, SeaTalk, can connect Raymarine autopilots, radars, chartplotters and fishfinders.
Other Features
The Raymarine ST60 Plus Depth System is not just a depth sounder. In fact, it hosts some convenient features
including shallow, deep, and anchor alarms.
It also has displays for current depth, maximum depth, and minimum depth. It can also execute customizable keel
depth and waterline offsets. It tailors the readout to the particulars of the vessel and the Captain's
preferences.
Mounting
All Raymarine ST60 Plus Instruments (the Depth and Wind Systems) have all convenient and flexible mounting
configurations. Each one can be surface-mounted on any dashboard, bulkhead or console and would still look
good.
With an optional flush-mount kit, ST60 Plus devices can be low-profile mounted to match Raymarine C, E, and G
series multifunction and marine displays. Table-top installations or from the overhead would be better to use the
optional ST60 Plus System bracket mounting kit.
The ST60 Depth System comes complete with display unit, sun cover, SeaTalk and power cables, surface mount
kit and complete instructions.
